Rubrics and Checklists
Class Participation Checklist - a useful form to quickly evaluate participation in your class.  Takes into consideration different levels of risk, question, conversation extensions and collaboration.
General Writing Rubric - includes descriptors for content & ideas, organization, voice, vocabulary, sentence structure, grammar and spelling.
Eco-Tourism Hotel Design Rubric - for a project during which students design their own original ideas for a low impact tourist destination, traditional presentation components and categories for visitor attractions and environmental consciousness.
Reflection Rubric for Projects - to evaluate a student project, especially something creative or design-oriented.  Includes summary, description & analysis, connections and discussion.  Also includes a page with sentence starters and guiding questions.
Screencasting Rubric - for evaluating student work recorded with apps like Explain Everything, Screencastify and Doodlecast Pro. Includes elements of planning, content, delivery and graphics.
Screencasting Checklist (for self and peer review) - students use this checklist and the rubric above during the process of recording their screencasts.  Any check mark in the some category requires more work.
Wordless Picture Book Story Writing Rubric - My students worked to write stories based on the illustrations of popular wordless picture books like Sector 7, Rainstorm and The Snowman. Here is an extended list of wordless picture books.
Proofreading marks - easy to customize form for your class and assignments.  You can add symbols within Google Docs for the top section or print the form and create your own by hand.
Language Structures Checklist (adapted from Celic 2009) - allows you to examine student work and determine levels with regard to certain grammar and writing elements like adjectives, past tense, metaphors and more.
Do Now Scoring Checklist - how I evaluate the students' responses to our Do Now question that we complete each day at the beginning of class.  I print these checklists and paste them into the composition journals where students respond to the daily prompt. Could also be done digitally.
